MINOR PROCEDURES
A minor procedure is done under local anesthetic in the outpatient department at the Saskatoon City Hospital.
Procedures that are considered minor include:
Carpal Tunnel Release
Trigger Finger Release
Needle Aponeurotomy
Simple Ganglion Excisions
Pre-operative Instructions
There is no fasting required for your minor procedure. Please have a light meal before arriving at the hospital. If you are diabetic, maintain normal oral intake, insulin and medications on the day of the procedure.
The night prior to your surgery, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and repeat the morning of your procedure as well.
If you take blood thinners, please contact your family physician or our office for further instructions.
We recommend that you arrange for someone to drive you home after your procedure.
